After all that enthusiasm, all that anxiety, we made it and the tassel was definitely worth the hassle.I still remember where I was and what I was doing when I got my acceptance letter from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. It was January 2020 and the world was still oblivious of what was coming next for humanity in a couple of months. It was a turmoil of emotions going through my body, I couldn’t have been happier. But as we all know, the universe had different plans and SARS-CoV-2 left life as we knew to a halt. With such uncertainty all around, we were all on uncharted waters. International borders were closed, and the stakes of reinventing our careers in those challenging times got higher. Luckily, we all had HHL’s unbeatable understanding and support, which gave us hope that everything would be all right. So, with faith in my uni and trusting myself, I moved to Germany that year itself. I can now say it proudly that that was one of the best decisions of my life and one of the most critical steps I took to bring my dreams to reality.None of this would have been possible without the support of Anne Marie Bergmann and Stefanie Sanches, who were always just an email away and made the transition phase a cakewalk for us, and our academic director, Vivek K Velamuri, who had more faith in us than we did. Those speed dating sessions in teams' breakout rooms brought the assurance that everyone is sailing on the same boat. Even the definitions of normal being changed didn’t impact the quality of our education, thanks to our dedicated professors, and the career counseling sessions by Kati Dorsch. Last but not least, I have my classmates to thank, from whom I learned more than any classroom had to offer. So incredibly honored to have been a part of Henkel Adhesive Technologies as a market strategy intern. The experience was nothing short from extraordinary! From everything I learned to the brilliant people I met, being a part of Printed Electronics team marked a defining chapter in my career.I loved learning about the innovative smart-healthcare and smart-surfaces technologies, the B2B side of marketing, strategic expansion of the business, how to work cross-functionally & manage industry 4.0 projects, and a lot more. Everyone on my team was very knowledgeable, authentic, open-minded, thoughtful and most of all passionate about their roles. Looking back on the last day of my internship, I am confident enough in saying that I am not the same person I was when I began this internship and I have my team to thank for letting me #thINKtogether with them.
