The Primordial Originator, Chaos, is an interesting character in Hades 2 that will be met inside the Chaos Gates. To enter and meet them, the player will have to give up some HP.

How Chaos’s Boons Work

Chaos is quite unique when it comes to the boons they offer the player. While Chaos’s boons will eventually grant the player a blessing, the player must first go through a few encounters with a disadvantage, this can range anywhere from a slower sprint and movement, to something more extreme such as a -500 Health Points hit if the player can’t manage to defeat their encounters in a set amount of time.

When it comes to Chaos, the first word in their boon gives the player an idea of what the challenge to getting the benefit of their boon is, an example being Pauper, which will mean the player is unable to gain any gold for a while.

The second word of the boon will give the player an idea of what the reward will be for clearing Chaos’s requirements. An example is Strike. If the player sees this it means the boon will make the player’s attacks hit harder.

Discovery Boons

• Some Included Boons: Fixated Discovery, Flayed Discovery, Atrophic Discovery, Ordinary Discovery, Gagged Discovery.

Chaos has many boons to offer the player, and among them is a type that ends with the word Discovery. As the name might imply, these kinds of boons will allow the player to discover more resources as they advance in Hades 2.

They will increase the amount of resources the player will find with their gathering tools by +100%. The chance of this working depends on the boon’s rarity.

Creation Boons

Favor Boons

• Some Included Boons: Caustic Favor, Doomed Favor, Maimed Favor, Hobbled Favor, Rejected Favor, Slothful Favor, Flayer Favor.

Favor boons are an incredible way to ensure that Melinoë gets offered better boons after the blessing starts working. The boons she gets will have a better chance of being rare.

Revelation Boons

Blood Boons

Defiance is an incredibly useful boon offered by Chaos. It allows the player to defy their death one more time per night. Being able to defy death is an amazing ability that can save the players from certain deaths. It’s especially useful when fighting against powerful bosses.

If the player falls, they will be brought back with 40% of their health points and Magick.
