FAQs
How to store pecan pie bars?
Slice and keep in an airtight container in the fridge. They will stay fresh for up to 4 days but ours are eaten much faster than that.
Do you have to refrigerate the pecan pie bars?
Yes, store any leftover pecan pie bars in the fridge in an airtight container. They will keep for about 4 days.
Can you make pecan pie bars in advance?
You most certainly can and we do this a lot. You can freeze the bars up to 6 months. This is perfect if you have an event coming up and need to get as much done as possible before hand.
Can you freeze pecan bars?
Yes! We love to double the recipe so that we can have some to freeze. This is perfect for holiday baking and when you want to bake ahead of time.
Just put in a freezer bag and they will keep up to 5-6 months. I do recommend putting parchment paper in between the bars to prevent sticking.
Pro Tips
- Line Baking Dish – We love using parchment paper or foil because it makes clean up so easy and helps to get the bars out of the baking dish.
- Crushing Pecans – If you don’t have a food processor, you can also crush the pecans if you buy whole ones in a sealed plastic bag with a rolling pin.
- Corn Syrup – Before pouring the corn syrup in a measuring cup, spray with non stick cooking spray. This allows all the corn syrup to pour out of the measuring cup.
- Stock up on Nuts – Nuts can get expensive that is why we try and stock up when they go on sale. You can stick them in the freezer until you are ready to use them.
