As winter approaches, it may not be very appealing to leave the house due to the cold and rainy weather. However, we have compiled a list of Eat Out –starred restaurants that are sure to offer a fantastic meal in a warm and cosy setting.
These must-visit restaurants all feature a cosy fireplace, making them perfect for the winter season.
Western Cape
Chefs Warehouse at Maison
Awarded one star at the 2023 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards, Chefs Warehouse at Maison restaurant in Franschhoek has a farm-to-table approach. The menu is all about seasonality, comfort and freshness weaved together with sophistication to create a memorable dining experience.

Located on Waterkloof Wine Estate in Somerset West, this Eat Out one– star restaurant focuses on seasonal cooking where the menu is informed by ingredients available during said season with a four– and six– course offering available.

FABER at Avondale
With a focus on a farm-to-fork approach, FABER at Avondale is located in the winelands town of Paarl.
The restaurant prides itself on its ethos, sourcing 95% of the ingredients used to create gastronomical dishes from the on-site farm. Sustainability is at the heart of this Eat Out one-star restaurant which offers an à la carte and a six-course menu.
Le coin Français
