Keystone Heights, Fla. — Velora M. "Val" Goyette, 86, of Keystone Heights, Fla., died Saturday, Jan 15, 2005, at Bradford Terrace in Starke, Fla.She was born in Shoram, Vt., May 24, 1918, the daughter of George and Marie (Ouimette) Mitchell.Mrs. Goyette moved to Keystone Heights from Orlando in 2004. She was a homemaker but had worked during the 1970’s as head cook at the Monty Street School for the Plattsburgh City School District. She was also a long time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.She is survived by two sons, Robert Goyette of Orlando, Fla., and James Goyette of Keystone Heights, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Burke and Teresa Defayette, both of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Mrs. Goyette was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ralph (Bill) Goyette; two sisters; and four brothers.A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, pastor, officiating.Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Clement Gautreaux, "Jr.", 76, who died at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.The Rev. Monsignor Harry E. Benefiel will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Ave Maria", "Coming Home", "The Wind Beneath My Wings" and "Notre Pere".Mr. Gautreaux was a native of Mamou and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. At the age of 14 years old and a seventh grader, he had to quit school to work on the farm full time in order to help feed his six brothers and sisters. Without any high school or college education, Mr. Gautreaux opened a milk business in Opelousas. He moved to Lafayette in 1954 and opened a truck stop and service station on Pinhook Road. In 1961, Mr. Gautreaux went into the construction business and mobile home towing. In 1964, he bought 20 acres of land on Verot School Road and in 1965 opened a mobile home park with 69 spots called Mobile Home Estates. Mr. Gautreaux opened G & J Mobile Home Service and Supply in 1972 and RV Supply Store and RV Service in 1979. He was the owner and operator of G & J Mobile Homes Inc., which is now a third generation family owned business. Mr. Gautreaux was a past member of the Louisiana Mobile Home Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying shrimping, hunting and fishing.Survivors include one daughter, Freida Simon and her husband, Michael; two sons, Dean Gautreaux and his wife, Janet, and Greg Gautreaux; his loving companion, Mary Winston, and her daughter, Carolyn LeBlanc and husband, Blaine; ten loving grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Juneau and Emily Taylor and her husband, Shelby; four brothers, Sam Gautreaux and his wife, Dot, Ewell Gautreaux and his wife, Bev, Walton Gautreaux and his wife, Ruby, and Sonny Gautreaux and his wife, Barbara.He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Lanclos Gautreaux; his parents, Clement Gautreaux Sr. and Elizabeth Guillory Gautreaux; one son, Rickey Gautreaux; one great-grandson, Cole Himel; and one infant sister.A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Wednesday until time of the funeral Mass.Pallbearers will be Dean Gautreaux, Greg Gautreaux, Justin Gautreaux, Chad Simon, Joey Simon and Ryan LeBlanc.Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Sullivan, Rex Sullivan, Dalton Gary, Earl Bertinot, George Broussard, Chris Lawrence and Dale Gautreaux.Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home Inc. of Lafayette, (337) 234-2311.View the obituary and guestbook online at www.mourning.com
